Why We 'Pay the Rent'

We respectfully acknowledge the traditional owners, the Jaara Jaara people of the Dja Dja Wurrung on whose unceded lands we live and work, recognising their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging.

We understand that the effects of colonisation continue to this day.

That's why we #paytherent.

Each month we contribute a set amount to a fund where decisions about how contributions are used are made exclusively by a Sovereign Body, comprised of Aboriginal Elders from a range of Aboriginal clans and nations.

Additionally, a percentage of every workshop held will also be contributed monthly.

Paying the Rent is a practical {albeit small} way for us to act in solidarity with our nation's first peoples.
